IT'S GOTTA HAVE A THEME!

Did you ever see the episode of The Office where it's Kelly Kapoor's birthday?

You can see she's bordering on utter disappointment in the proceedings until she learns…the party has a THEME.

As Kelly says with total conviction:

“It's gotta have a theme!”

Let's just say I can relate.

I started my graphic design career creating yearbooks with schools across Atlanta—and as any good yearbooker will tell you, they've gotta have a theme, too.

You build a whole world inside that cover with color, photography, headlines, typography and graphics.

It was love at first deadline.

When I moved into wedding stationery, I fell in love with those little worlds all over again. Save the dates lead to invitations, which lead to welcome signs and menus and matchbooks and tiny favor tags—and somehow, piece by piece, an entire event begins to have its own visual language.

And now, with Paper Worlds, I'm taking the world-building one step further.

What if the paper didn't just announce the event? What if it belonged to it?

A hotel key card becomes an RSVP.

A coaster becomes an invitation to welcome drinks.

A matchbook holds the secret code to the after party.

A bodega advertisement becomes a wedding welcome sign.

It's world-building on steroids.

And I couldn't love this new direction for Castleberry Hill Studio more.
